another unusual find along the river

I'm curious as to what resolution you all post your images at? I've been posting mine at 72, should I go higher?

What a beautiful find, Cheryl ... I love the complementary tones of purple, yellow, orange and gold. I post my images at 100 ppi, but the truth is most computer monitors' have a maximum resolution of 72 ppi. A lot of factors can play into how well (crisp/clear/color accurate) your images look when saved as jpegs and then uploaded onto a web server. If you don't have the A+ membership here on Aminus3 your images are compressed somewhat. If you exceed 800 px wide (here on Aminus3) your images will be compressed (even if you have the A+ membership). I do have the A+ membership (costs $45 per year) and I think it's worth it, but the truth is sometimes I save an image in Photoshop ... upload to Am3 and the colors just aren't as deep or saturated as they were in the PSD version.

Having said all that (with a certain air of authority), the God's honest truth is I'm still learning. Some days I think I do a better job than other days. Some days I'm really pleased with the way my post looks and the next day it seems to be flat. So there you have it ... I've talked my way 'round in a circle and don't know if I've said anything worthy of your time or not. But I just thought I'd throw in my two cents. ron

@Ron: hey thanks Ron, very informative answer to my question!! I'll stay at 72ppi. I do have the A+ membership but haven't noticed a difference in compression. thanks for your 2 cents :-) ..LOL

This object use for showing the direction of the wind (don't know the name in English) has a really nice shape and you have done a great work on colors.
For the web a resolution of 72 ppi is the number commonly used. I resize my pictures to be less than 800 px wide and when I save them I drop down the quality to reduce the size file (130-200 KB)

Hey, now that is pretty cool. The colors are fun and playful and sure do work well with this composition. Enjoyable! As for reso, ppi, dpi, PSD, abcd-lmnop...uh, yeah, all that stuff Ron said sounds pretty good.
